Mortem AI builds Sarah, the AI attendant for funeral homes. Sarah handles inbound family inquiries, qualifies leads, books appointments, and supports families around the clock so funeral directors can focus on what they do best. We are market-tested, growing fast, and in active partnership discussions with the largest technology platform in the deathcare industry. This is not a concept. It is a working product with paying clients and a clear path to scale.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to be the first commercial leader at a company that has already done the hard work of proving the market. You will not be handed a team, a playbook, or a pipeline. You will build them. For at least the first two years this role is entirely hands-on: you are the seller, the relationship manager, the closer, and the strategist simultaneously. You will work directly alongside the founders, own the full revenue function, and have meaningful input into how this company grows. As the business scales, this role scales with it.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full sales cycle from first contact to signed agreement across direct and channel accounts
  • Build and develop partnerships with platforms, industry associations, and referral networks
  • Represent Mortem AI at key industry events and conferences across North America
  • Develop the go-to-market playbook from the ground up based on what actually works
  • Feed market intelligence directly into product and roadmap decisions
  • Be the face of Mortem AI in the market until the team grows around you

What We're Looking For

  • A proven closer who is equally comfortable building relationships and getting contracts signed
  • B2B sales experience in SaaS, vertical software, or a service business with long sales cycles
  • An existing network in the funeral, deathcare, or adjacent healthcare or services industry is a genuine advantage
  • The kind of person who does not wait to be told what to do
  • Comfortable being player and coach at the same time, for the foreseeable future
  • High integrity, low ego, and obsessed with outcomes
